Starting from Rouen a group of waterway enthusiasts travelled up the River Seine aboard the Hotel Barge “Anacoluthe.” We see beautiful period villages waterside industries houseboats pleasure craft and push-tows of commercial barges. We pass through the heart of “tourist” Paris and navigate amazingly rural reaches in the suburbs. The cruise ends at St. Mammes at the junction of the River Loing. Side trips visit painter Claude Monet’s famous gardens the formal grounds of a Grand Château and the control room of an important lock.
